BIOGRAPHY
Raised in Lake Charles and a graduate of Barbe High School, Sye moved to Houma after law school to open his own law firm. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University. Sye’s legal practice is focused primarily on all aspects of business law, hurricane claims, business transactions, real estate closings, general litigation and select criminal defense and personal injury. He has successfully represented clients in mergers, acquisitions, private and public capital raises, asset sales, contract negotiations, start-ups, hurricane claims, commercial and residential real estate closings, personal injury cases and various lawsuits.
Sye was an Assistant District Attorney for the Terrebonne Parish District Attorney’s Office for over seven years handling felony trials, asset forfeiture cases and post-conviction relief hearings. Sye boasts an impressive resume of handling more than 1,000 criminal cases involving the most severe crimes.
In addition to his legal practice, Sye is the owner of several businesses and volunteers his time in several charity organizations. Sye is adamant about helping others in need and routinely provides pro bono work. When not assisting clients, Sye enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and in-shore/offshore fishing.

Obtained a large payment and company assets for a business owner against her co-owner who was stealing company funds
In a pro bono case, secured the safe return of an urn containing the ashes of a tenant’s late husband after she was evicted and forced to move her family into a shelter
In a pro bono case, successfully defended an indigent client from being wrongfully evicted
In a pro bono case, took a case to trial after an indigent client endured a 2-year legal battle without funds to hire an attorney and got the case dismissed
